The Princess thanks Lady Southampton for a pair of slippers she had made for her son, Alexander. The cover bears 1d stamp tied by Caledonian TPO/Day Up cds. (Lady Ismay Southampton was Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Victoria from 1878 until her death in 1901 and close friend to the Princess)
